WORK EXPERIENCE

Sony Pictures Imageworks: Senior Lighting & Look Development Artist

March 2015 - Present

Lighting, rendering, and compositing shots for feature VFX and animated films. Look development on character and environment assets. Started as Associate Technical Director on Alice 2 (2015 - 2016). Lighting Lead on Angry Birds 2 and Over The Moon (2019 - 2020). Currently working on Across the Spiderverse.

PDI | DreamWorks Animation: Lighting Technical Assistant (TA)

April 2014 - January 2015

Set up sequences for lighting; light production shots and marketing stills as needed; assist lighting supervisors and leads with production tasks. Single-handedly tech-fixed, ‘finalled’, and took ownership of a sequence of 30 shots in the span of 2.5 months while also fulfilling regular TA responsibilities. Supported lighting leads on 4 different sequences simultaneously.

Doodle Pictures Studio: Lighting Artist

April 2013 - April 2014

Light and composite shots for the LEGO Star Wars webseries. Other responsibilities: create light rigs for some episodes; prepare assets and shots for lighting; and monitor renders.

Nov. 2012 - March 2013

Assist Lighting Leads and Technical Directors prepare shots for lighting; break out complex shots into render layers (including crowd and set break-outs); troubleshoot issues with renders; address lighting and compositing notes.

Learn and apply the various skills of a Technical Director-- lighting, modeling, shading, layout, set-dressing, rigging, and FX. Focused on lighting for final project. Trained in reviewing skills and use of proprietary software. View reel.

 

SHORT FILMS

Through a hybrid of  2D and 3D animation, an elderly woman reminisces about her hometown over a cup of tea.

A mixed-media short film. I was responsible for some animation, compositing, rotoscoping, visual effects, motion tracking, editing, and scratch-track design.

 

Unhinged: Graduate Thesis Film by Gayane Bagdasaryan

A thesis film directed by a graduate student at Rochester Institute of Technology. I assisted with the 2D animation, clean-up, and color.
